Everything is reduce to money, Economy and numbers so it is life. The repetition, the emptiness invades our understanding of a world that tries to give economical value to everything on it.
Since childhood I have a conflict with numbers, they bore me, the abstraction of them move me away from the real, from what I consider real, from emotions, people, nature, life... In an economical world, everything is tiresome, jobs are transform in a parody, trap in this realm man can only count.

Madrid, 19th to 26th of July.
Public intervention where the artists from daily services (Maria Linares&rosa mesa) offered their services as scribes. The artists offered for free to the passer by a chance to dictate a letter or to write it and they send it on the mail. They try for a week to revitalize the practice of handwriting almost extinguished after the arrival of new technologies.
Intervención pública en la que las artistas de daily services (María Linares y rosa mesa) ponen a disposición del público sus servicios como escribientes. Las artistas ofrecen a los transeuntes la posibilidad de enviar una carta escrita a mano a un ser querido de forma gratuita, que ellas llevan al correo.daily services pone a los transeuntes en contacto con la escritura caligráfica y la profesión del escribiente, extinguida ya en casi todo el mundo debido a la expansión de redes digitales de comunicación.

As part of the collective daily services(Maria Linares&rosa mesa) have presented during the Neukoelln 48 Stunden Festival in Berlin, the piece dalily deluxe, a public intervention where people could enjoy a thai massage, a face massage or some hair styling, all for free sitting in our comfortable mobile daily station. Over 100 people enjoy this weekend the project.

Series: I hate white: "Stained" 2011

This is the third and last performance from the series I hate white, a trilogie dealing with nationalism, racism and violence. This piece was presented at Kurt Kurt Forever in Sant Denis.
The piece deals with the idea of Tacheé(Stained, Manchados), the idea of being somehow a visible minority and with the destruction of the idols, the symbols and those icons that we though once untachable.

The piece is an oda to the ecosystem form by humanity where each men is part of a sensitive and fragile structure. The tittle comes from a poem of John Donne. This poem was also use in the film For whom the bells toll, based on the novel from Heminway about spanish civil war.
Taking this sentence as a metaphor I explore concepts as nationalism, patritism, humanity and personal responsability and involment in todays political panorama.

This piece is part of the series “I hate white”, where the artist explores ideas about demagoguery and violence. The concept of white has simbolized purity, virginity, cleanness versus black charge with negative connotations and red associated with the violence or the impure.
In the piece Brothers, the artist plays in one hand with the colour and in the other with the concept of brotherhood, associated with nationalism. In any case the piece plays around preconceived ideas and attitudes.

This piece from the artist rosa mesa is a performance that deals with the world of communication in artistic spaces but it extents to the general world of today media oriented and globalized culture.
Politics, politics of art, responsability, ownership, desire, control and communication are some of the themes that work in this piece that is both an interactive performance as well as a drawing piece.
It is an interactive piece in which the audience is invited to participate in the creative process telling their secrets or desires to the artist.The artist becomes a puppet that will respond to the audience interaction.

This double video piece is a metaphorical overview of two cities, La Havana and Berlin. They seems to have nothing in common but the artist explores the idea of change and transition in political and social contexts through her own experience. The first one was filmed in the way from Havana to the airport, the second one was filmes in the place where the Berlin Wall use to stand.

"Gluttony", 2009

During this performance the artist eats several watermelons, the process is done in a violent and wild form until the artist pukes. She then moves on and invite the public to eat with her.
Metaphorically the piece speaks about unnecessary expenses, about the uncontrolled consumerism of food and products to which we expose our bodies and that finishes mining our health. It alludes also to the barbarism of the consumption that is destroying the planet and our environment. Makes references to the relation between the process and our responsability about it.

Licking myself, 2009

This video performance, five minutes long, shows the artist in a room naked licking herself. While the artist immitaed animals behaviour, the piece talks about being more in touch with nature in the world of health and also about each person responsability about their own health. She debates the complexity of health issues from a wide spectrum that includes the social, the cultural, the phisical and the mental.

This piece makes a reference to the world of art and its relationship with consummerism, fetichism and the cult to celebrity. In the piece the artist has asked more than twenty artist to donate their hair for a performance in which rosa sells the hair in neat transparent boxes.

Visible Walls, 2008

This piece is an exploration of concepts as visibility, isolation, separation and exclusion. The wall, traditional element of construction and symbol of the idea of protection is used as a metaphor to explore these terms in relation to the building itself where the artists are doing their residency. The work also deals with the issue of what is seen and the ambiguity of images.
Ideas such as home, secret, observation, prohibition and the ambiguity of the visible are treated then in a satirical mood. In a highly technological society what we see is in debate.
The piece will be presented in three rooms. The day of the opening it will be an action-performance as the unifying event of both the evening and the exhibition.

Die Arbeit ’Visible Walls’ will Begriffe wie Sichtbarkeit, Isolierung, Trennung und Ausgrenzung hinterfragen. Die Wand, im klassischen Sinne ein vertikales Bauteil und ein Symbol für Schutz, dient als eine Metapher um diese Begriffe in Bezug auf das Gebäude, in welchem die Künstler ihre Resindence haben, zu erforschen.
Ideen wie Haus, Geheimnis, Beobachtung, Verbot und die Zweideutigkeit des Sichtbaren werden in einer satirischen Sichtweise behandelt. In einer hoch technologischen Gesellschaft steht das was wir sehen in der Debatte.
Die Arbeit wird in drei Räumen gezeigt. Am Öffnungstag wird ein Action-performance das Vereinigungsereignis von sowohl dem Abend als auch der Ausstellung sein.

This is a piece created to be presented at PROGR, Bern. The piece entitled Visible Walls, is composed of different works:
-documentation room, with text and a diary of the residency done at PROGR center.
-film room, with a video proyection entitled, Mauro s Birthday and a tv monitor that broadcast the action\performance realize by rosa mesa and Thomas Proffe. The construction of a Wall of bricks at the door of the exposition room.
-the dinner room, this presents the leftovers of the dinner realiye during the opening night behind the bricks wall and broadcast live in the internet as well as projected live in the film room during the opening night.

This wok was presented at the Neuchatel Museum of History. Switzerland.

Borders separate, divide and mark...those that stay in one side get stranded. But what happens when you cross the border. The other becomes "we" but perhaps not. The ones who change are the ones to pass to the other side.

La frontière sépare un côté de d'un autre, la frontière divise, marque… ceux qui restent dans un côté d'une certaine manière appartiennent. Mais qui arrive quand on croisera la frontière. L'autre se transforme nous… mais peut-être non. Lesquel se transforme celui qui se passe à l'autre côté.
