The artist/La artista
rosa mesa art has been
of a multidisciplinary nature from its begginnings exploring multitud of
subjects and mediums but with a basic structure that unifies her approach to
contemporary art. At the present moment her works extends to the areas of contemporary art and performance, activism, cultural managing, art education, writting and publishing. She has also create a podcast "Mordidas".
Since 2020 the art world was put on hold and inspire in the artist a new approach, a new position. The begginning of this new phase took place with the project "In nobodies´s land", where the artist researches and explores the island where she resides (Gran Canaria) and the areas of public and private space that surround her. The next projects as "Aqua Viva" and "Venus on land" continue with this research openning the door to a new perspective on her work that drinks from her past experience as well as today events. Opening the door to establish an ecofeminist approach to her vision. She does not consider possible in any case at the present time to reduce her wok to a style or theme.
Her
works takes inspiration in artist as Mendieta, Adrian Piper, Coco Fusco, and Joseph Bueys, Nancy Spero, Ester Ferrer...From the point of view of a planet threathened by
unlimited consumerism, corporativism activism,performance and a liquid position toward art seems the best and more responsible way of
expression.
Her
pieces has been shown in Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland....
